Tombstone country Music Club has been running since March 2003, when Terry Abel asked Joyce Joy and Karen & Geoff Marley if they would help set up a Country music club. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength, including our first weekend festival in 2006. This was a quiet start but in August 2007 the festival proved a great success (see photos). For personal reasons Joyce resigned from Tombstone in late2006 and was replaced by Barbara Baker. Barbara has an extensive knowledge of country music and travels to many festivals in the year, she is a welcome addition to the committee
The club's aim has always been to provide good country music to listen and dance to and at the same time raise money for local charities. In the ealry years all proceeds went to local charities including; Claire House, St John's Hospice, Wirral Autistic Society, Hoylake Lifeboat, British Heart Foundation, Children in Need,Wirral Disabled Marine Association, Cancer research, TENOVUS
In 2007 the club decided to donate all money raised from the festival to the local branch of the British Heart Foundation, and on Friday 14th September Graham Cox the local branch chairman was presented with a cheque for £5290.
